I drove up from Los Angeles last night, checked in at 4am, and slept (as well as I could) until 9am.
I'm now sitting in a parking lot charging my iPhone before this trip's first tournament: a $235 buy in deepstack event at the WSOP. This isn't a bracelet event, obviously, but I figured it would be a good warmup for tomorrow, and if I bust out early I'll play the cash games at the WSOP or make my way to the Aria poker room.
As I started this blog, a Korean man approached my car and complimented me on my Ford Escape. The conversation drifted to his brother-in-law, who he described as a "short man who makes it rain money because he's insecure." Unsure of how to
respond, I simply said, "ah, I see." He then told me that his brother was stupid for showing off his money in the clubs because there were black people there and they probably had guns. I told him that most Americans, black and white, carried guns. He was on his way shortly after that.
